Elagabalus

Note the reverse of this tetradrachm of Elagabalus. It is opposite from the reverse of Emperor Macrinus. The solar crescent is to the right of the eagles wing. The Roman Eagle faces the sun. The moon or star is now under the power of the Roman Imperial Eagle. Photo Harlan J. Berk
